0.11 Update: Ancestries are DONE
Ancestries have now been updated and rebalanced with a ton of both quality of life and game balance changes, across ALL Ancestries in the game. Now, the final steps for 0.11 are the Subclass and Class Capstone Features.
When 0.11 is completed, we’ll be 1 to 1 with what the full release of where games like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder are at. This means the games level cap will go from 1 - 20 and the future updates (0.12 and 0.13 etc) will add to the Social and Exploration Pillars to support them even MORE than what you are normally used to. This is a really exciting moment, because I believe this will be truly when people can jump in and actually start campaigns with DC20 that they’ve been waiting to start.
After 0.11 you can also expect to see far less (or dare I say none) changes made to the core Combat rules of the game.

DC20 August 2026 Update: Level 1 & 5 Done + Gen Con

0.11 Update + Gen Con
This month has LOCKED IN the Level 1 and Level 5 updates for ALL Classes. We have also finalized all of the "general rules" that will be going into 0.11 (including a new Stamina Regen improvement). This means all that’s left for 0.11 is to finish development and review for Ancestries, Subclass Features, and Level 9 Class Capstone Features. We are SO close!
When 0.11 is complete that will be the FULL Combat Pillar of DC20 and the max level of the game will finally reach 20 (how fitting eh?)
Gen Con is HUGE and I will be looking around for yall up there and do some meet ups for sure, but also have some DC20 surprises in the works with collaborations brewing for the future as well!

Monster Collection Released!
We’ve released the first version of the Monster Collection PDF! Anyone at the $95 tier or above, or who added it on separately, should have gotten the Monster Collection through DriveThruRPG when it released. Check for an email from DriveThruRPP, and look in Spam if you don’t see it. If you don’t have it and should, reach out to [email protected] and we’ll help get the PDF to you ASAP!
If you didn’t purchase the Monster Collection before, you can get it on the website here: DC20 Monster Collection
This is the FULL DC20 Monster Builder Guide with ALL the tools, tables, and insights on how to create monsters in DC20. Additionally, you get 30 NEW Monster Stat Blocks as examples of what monsters across different level ranges look like. This is the Beta 0.1 of this PDF and there will be MORE added to this in the future (including 40 more Monsters!).
Next Kickstarter PDF Releases
We’re working on the Magic Item Collection and the One Shot Collection, and we’ll be releasing the first versions of those as soon as possible, as well. This will probably start with the Magic Item Collection, and be followed by the One Shot Collection. We also have a special surprise in the works for all Kickstarter Backers as well!
Progress Update on 0.11
Since 0.11 will be the FULL Combat Pillar of the game, we put a lot of work already on the balance of the game all the way from 1 to 20. Now that we have all the values for how much things are "worth" we can go back and do a final balance pass on Classes / Subclasses / Ancestries.
We are almost finished with the balance pass of the Classes from levels 1-5 which then lets us finalize the Subclass Features (level 6+) and the Class “Capstone” Features. All of these have already been laid out, but we will do our final passes on those and a final balance pass of all Ancestries as well.
There is also a surprise announcement coming on Ancestries as well that I think people will be VERY excited about too! We’ll keep you posted on where those are at in next month’s Kickstarter Update and until then, here is the visual chart to show exactly where it’s at that I will include in each of these updates!
-
Stage 1: To Do: Compiling and Outlining what needs to be done
-
Stage 2: In Development: Developers are creating an initial draft of changes.
-
Stage 3: Dev Review: Developers have finished an initial draft and are discussing needed revisions.
-
Stage 4: DC Review: Developers have sent it to DC for his review and revisions.

This month we have been releasing a LOT of “Sneak Peaks” into 0.11 Rule Changes. We have been listening to all the feedback and have made some updates that so far people have been loving! The game continues to become more efficient, intuitive, and streamlined as we have always said was a design goal, and 0.11 will really be the best showcase of where the final version of the game will land.
I have also outlined a color coded system to really SHOW how long between each update in the Progress Chart below!
0.11 Rule Changes
Here are some of the big changes coming in 0.11:
- Better Scaling for Heavy and Brutal Hits
- Streamlining Armors and Shields
- Condensing and Simplifying Skills and Conditions
- Speeding up Initiative
- Streamlining Damage Resistance
- & much more!
If you’d like more context on some of this stuff, you can check the following videos about them:

0.11 Progress Chart
To be as transparent as possible with you guys about where we are in development, we made a chart to show our progress as we work through everything for 0.11’s release. We will continue to use this type of interphase for all future updates. You can see that chart here:
-
Stage 1: To Do: Compiling and Outlining what needs to be done
-
Stage 2: In Development: Developers are creating an initial draft of changes.
-
Stage 3: Dev Review: Developers have finished an initial draft and are discussing needed revisions.
-
Stage 4: DC Review: Developers have sent it to DC for his review and revisions.
-
Stage 5: Finalized: DC has approved all updates.
As you can see, pretty much everything is at least at Stage 2, with most of it being at Stage 5. Next month, we’ll have another progress update using this same chart!
