0.10 Maneuvers Update
ALL Maneuvers have been COMPLETED! This means that there are now around 30 different Maneuvers to choose from in 0.10. Huge whirlwinds, dash through enemies, taunt, brace, and even recovering some HP are all now at Martials disposal!
Now that Maneuvers and Techniques are combined they work much like Spells. Each Maneuver has Enhancements you can spend Stamina (or AP) on to make them bigger and better in a variety of ways.

0.10 Spells Update
We have completed all the game balance templates for Spells, especially for damage scaling. In the image below, you can see how much progress has been made in each Spell category since last month! But now with Maneuvers out of the way... I cant wait to show you guys how close we will be to the 0.10 release!

Spells Update
Back in July’s update, I showed yall where Spells were at (see picture).
AND as a refresher, here are what the colors mean:
Well, this is where we’re at now!
Now that everything else is out of the way (all the martial / general rule updates), just wait until you see what next month’s update will look like! I created this color coding system to CLEARLY show everyone where we are at in design and once you start seeing mostly GREEN, then you know 0.10 is right around the corner!
Extra DC20 Update
Maneuvers and Techniques should be finished sometime this month, so stay tuned for next month’s update for more on that! We also finished the Artificer Class, along with 2 of its Subclasses. I’m really glad we did the design work on this class now, because we found some really cool solutions and ideas for improving the Magic Item system in DC20. Now all Magic Items will have a Magic Power associated with them that’s relatively balanced around what an equivalent amount of Mana could do. This means that when GMs hand out Magic Items, they truly know how strong it is, and when creating your own Magic Items, you’ll be able to more easily balance them.
We are also getting close to releasing some of those other PDFs from the Kickstarter as well! We have been focused on the Core Rules, but have also been developing some of the other PDFs at the same time, so that will be coming soon as well!
Other Updates
I went and filmed 4 campaign episodes of me as a player of DC20, that’ll be going live later this month! Currently, there is an interview that Bardic Aggravation did with me, and they asked a bunch of new DC20 questions. You can check that interview out here:
Artificer Class
There are 13 "Core Classes" in DC20, but I believe that it is good game design to at LEAST outline what the other Classes will be in the game in the long run. I see there being 20 Classes in DC20 TOTAL and the Artificer is one of those! The DC20 Magazine is a resouce that helps us be able to playtest ideas EARLY and refine them before publishing them etc. The work Developing the Artificer has also already made the Core Rules of DC20 Stronger in its Magic Item system that is better now, and more! Get it HERE
All Patrons this month get: - Artificer Class PDF - Magic Item Creation System PDF - Poison System PDF
Missing Survey Count: 984
We are still trying to fill out all surveys to get to a more manageable level (less than 100). So if you have not completed your survey (or can not find it) then just click this link here and you can knock it out right now!
DC20 - Sept 25 Update: Martial Update Reveal

Martial Update
We’ve got some big updates for this month! In a livestream (linked below), I went over some big picture things we’re doing. Right here, I’ll put all of the topics that came up with the time stamps for each.
Here are some additional rule changes that are also going to be coming to 0.10!
Resource changes to balance Stamina and Mana.
Combination and update to rules around Combo Spellcasting and Spell Duels.
Removal of Sonic damage, with a creative and simple alternative.
Removal of the Poisoned Condition (replaced with a full poison system).
New Spell Focus system similar to the Weapon system.
New Combo Martial moves to pair up with allies
Spells Update
Before developing Spells, we wanted to make sure to lay a solid foundation to set the balance between Martials and Spellcasters. In combining Maneuvers and Techniques, we’ve found a much easier/better way to balance them against one another, and so NOW we have NO MORE roadblocks in the way of the creation of Spells.
We’re excited to hear what you think of these changes! In next month’s update I’ll be giving a sneak peek of exactly where Spells are and what the whole process looks like with a full Kickstarter Only video breaking it all down!
DC20 - Aug 25 Update: Gen Con + Maneuvers

DC20 at GenCon
I am finally back from a WHIRLWIND trip at Gen Con 2025! It was AMAZING! I was able to meet SO many of yall and I felt the love and support from you IN PERSON! So thank you for that!
I also spoke at a pannel on DC20 (will work on getting a video up for that soon). But I have good news and bad news...
Bad News: I was supposed to play DC20 with Brennan Lee Mulligan again on Friday, but it fell through since he was sick and resting up for the HUGE announcement at Gen Con that he will be the New GM for Critical Roles 4th season. So we took a rain check and we will see what that looks like
Good News: I met Mathew Mercer... out of nowhere! We talked and I made him cry from the things I shared with him about how he changed my life in more ways than he could imagine, gave him a hard time for not playing DC20 last year with Brennan, and showed him that he is cited in Alkander's Almanac, lol.
Matt is just as genuine and humble as you would think he is. This was a bucket list moment for me and I will never forget it! Maybe next time HE will be playing DC20 along side Brennan and Aabriya next time!
Maneuvers Update
Some consistent feedback I have gotten is that Maneuver and Techniques were a little complicated for character options at level 1. You have almost TOO many options at early levels, so we've decided to streamline things and make it even better!
In 0.10, Weapon Styles are getting overhauled, and Maneuvers and Techniques will be combined together. What does that mean? Well you know how Cantrips and Spells work? Well now Maneuvers will work just like that. When you learn a Maneuver, it will be able to do something simple for no Stamina cost... BUT... if you spend Stamina to "enhance" it, then it can do BIGGER things (just like how you can do that with Cantrips).
Along with all that, we’ve been working on balancing between MP and SP to make them each feel unique (so Martials and Spellcasters still feel like their own thing) but work in ways that make all Classes feel powerful and fun to play.
And all of this has came to the surface from the HUGE work that is being done on Spells for getting everything dialed in for 0.10!
Future of Spells!
I am excited to be back from Gen Con and ready to DIVE back into DC20 Spells Development!!!
DC20 - July 25 Update: Big Spell Progress

Spell Update
We’ve got some great news to start off with! The Development on ALL Spells has moved from Phase 1 into Phase 2! BUT... what does this mean??
There is a 3 Phase Development Process that we use to make Spells for DC20 (outlined below). This also gives me a great way to show yall insight into where the development is.
Blue = Outline design space of what would be expected when you think of ALL potentials spells in a fantasy TTRPG.
Gold = Brainstorm and expand the design space to see what new and cool Spells we can add that are "outside the box".
Purple = Outline the Spells and actually write them out
Green = DONE
We’re now moving into the brainstorming phase, and it’ll only keep ramping up from here.
Here is an image of ALL the Spell Categories and where they are in development! (see key above)
More 0.10 Updates
There are some more updates and quality of life improvements to DC20 outside of JUST Spells coming with 0.10 as well! The BIGGEST one is an update for both Martials and Spellcasters. Martials have thier weapons and now Spellcasters have a Spell Focus system (similar to how Weapon Properties work) that they can further customize how they want to cast spells.
We have also SIMPLIFIED things further on the Martial end and have updated Weapon Styles (more to come on that in the near future) and are also combining Maneuvers and Techniques together (similar to how Cantrips and Spells are "together"). I will be announcing the specific update in a Livestream in the next 2 weeks, so stay tuned for that!
Updated Starter Adventure
An awesome announcement we’re excited for: The Hunted One-Shot, our free starter adventure, has been updated for 0.9.5, with all of the stat blocks updated. You can find that linked, here:
This is a link to a Google Drive, but it will soon be available on the "Free Downloads" section of DC20.com
DC20 at GenCon
I’ll be at GenCon this year, and will be doing two different meetups! I have a panel I’m speaking on, on that Thursday (July 31st) at noon. I also have some potential big games in store to tell you guys about, but I’m still working out the details. I’ll share with you guys as soon as I know who I’m playing with!
Just search "dc20" for the event tickets, there are still some available at the time of making this update!
More DC20 Content in the Patreon
If you guys are really loving DC20 and wanna keep supporting this game to make it as big and awesome as it can be, think about joining the Patreon! All Patrons get access to early playtest material so that we can get even more feedback before it makes it into any of our official releases. As an example, this month’s release on Patreon is a new adventure for 4th-Level PCs: Trouble on the Trade Way.
